Great Salt Lake Desert
Great Salt Lake Desert, Tooele County Utah. Tooele county has been described as the most toxic place in the US, home of the Dugway Proving Ground, the Deseret Chemical Depot, toxic waste landfills, and incinerators, the US Magnesium production plant and accompanying Superfund Site and radioactive uranium mine tailings that were disposed in the county in the 1980's.
